White Spelt Flour

How To Make Homemade Pizza Dough, Episode #20

Attention Attention Candida Sufferers Avoid These Foods

Candida starts to develop in the gut as a fungus, and at the same time creates its ideal environment inside the gut. Unfortunately, the environment in which Candida thrive means that the pH balance is acidic. This acidity inhibits the bodies’ ability to absorb vitamins and minerals, and it limits enzyme production of digestive proteins. One of the side effects of limited enzymes leads to indigestion symptoms, wind or gas, a sense of the intestines being bloated or swollen, increased acid levels and sensitivities to certain types of food.

As your body finds it difficult to digest certain foods, it is best to avoid them. Sugar feeds Candida and that includes the fructose a fruit sugar, so you should avoid eating sugar and fresh or dried fruit. Alcohol is a type of sugar and is a direct food source for Candida. In some areas, water has certain chemicals added by the local water board, and in the majority of cases, it is beneficial, but some Candida sufferers find that chlorinated water can aggravate the condition. As an alternative drink distilled water, there is no guarantee that bottled water is not chlorine free.

One downside of the Candida diet is that it is very restrictive and a very strict regimen, also from a nutritional stand point, it is not good for you. This diet is not a fast easy solution for the Candida sufferer and it takes a lot of commitment. Individual recovery times differ, but as a rule many Candida sufferers’ report that you have to be on the diet for one month for every year which you have had Candida. That means, if you have had Candida for 27 years, then you need to follow the diet for twenty seven months.

Its purpose is to starve the yeast organisms which are causing the symptoms. Again, the diet is not very nutritionally sound and as you are already not getting the full benefits of the food you are eating, it may be a good idea to take multivitamins.

In addition, when you undertake the Candida Cleanse diet you have to stick with all of it, if you have one alcoholic drink, you have fed the yeast infection and the imbalance will reoccur. The Candida Yeast Diet is not very aptly named, more correctly it should be the Candida No yeast diet, and although it is a very strict and unforgiving regimen, it does work, it will starve the Candida yeast infection.

A note about sugar, there are effective sugar substitutes, chemical sweeteners are not good for you and are best avoided, but there are natural sweeteners derived from plants. An example is Vegetable Glycerine which, while it can be extracted from many plants normally comes from the coconut palm. It is available at health stores in a liquid form and you use it as you would honey but it is sweeter.

Stevia is another plant based natural sugar substitute, but it is purely a sugar. The vegetable glycerine has a raising agent added that will make cakes or other baked good rise.

7 Detox Tips To Make Life Easy

It’s no secret that our diet today leaves much to be desired – too much coffee and sugary sodas, too much fatty food and fast food. Not enough fresh food. Enough said. Here’s seven detox tips for you so ou can get healthier and fitter easily…

Every day we eat foods that aren’t good for our body – coffee and doughnuts in the morning, salads with too much sugar in the dressings, soups that are loaded with unhealthy fats and that’s not even the tip of the iceberg. We are constantly filling up our bodies that make our system too acidic. We don’t get enough fresh food and even biting into that ‘healthy’ apple could mean ingesting wax and other chemicals. So it’s no secret that almost everyone today could do with cleansing their body from the inside. With this in mind, here are seven detox tips that are easy to do and can help a lot:

1. The Trick To Eating Fresh Fruit:
Fresh fruit is so good for flushing out unwanted toxins, and we all know that fruit is healthy for you. The trick is to eat it on an empty stomach and eat it during the morning. Start with a fresh fruit breakfast and if you’re still hungry later on, have a fresh fruit smoothie or juice. You can have as much fruit as you want.

2. The Tea Trick:
Most of us drink far too much coffee. Substitute coffee with either green tea or herbal tea. Green tea has caffeine so it will give you a kick like coffee but your body absorbs this caffeine better when it’s from tea. Herbal tea is also great and both teas are very good for you. If you are a coffee fanatic, then just start with substituting one cup of java a day with tea and go from there.

3. The Water Tricks:
We all need to drink more water generally. Did you know that in most parts of Europe when you order coffee, a cup of water comes with it? This is a great way to flush out the toxins caused by that coffee. This simple trick not only gets your water consumption up but helps to cleanse your body. So when you drink coffee from now on, finish off by drinking a glass of good quality water. If you know you should be drinking more water, but can’t seem to do so, here’s anther trick. Simply fill a jug with your alloted quota of water for the day. Then make sure you see the jug and a glass in front of you at all times, to remind you. Another way is to drink some water every hour on the hour so you can easily remember. ANother more unorthodox method is with those thin glass bracelets you can get for next to nothing at cheap accessories stores. If it is your goal to drink 8 glasses of water, simply put 8 bracelets on one wrist. Every time you drink a glass of water, take one of the bracelets and put it on the other wrist. Of course your goal is to transfer all eight bracelets to the other wrist every day.

4. The Omission Trick:
Set a goal to take one item per week that’s not good for you (say French fries for example) and simply strike it from your diet. In this example, if you have a craving for fries, take a potato, cut it in wedges, salt and pepper (maybe some rosemary too) and sprinkle a little olive oil over them. Put them on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. In my opinion these even taste better than fries and are much healthier for you. Always substitute what you’re striking with something healthier so you have an alternative – say instead of that fatty pizza slice, have a piece of fruit, or some raw veggies with a yoghurt dip.

5. The Raw Trick:
Make salads and raw veggies a part of your regular diet. You get used to them really easily and they taste much better than cooked vegetables. A salad a day, for example (without bought dressing) is a great way to do this. Have a salad every day for lunch – add chicken breast and a spicy oil, vinegar, rosemary and garlic dressing is a great meal idea. Salads and raw vegetables help detox your body and it’s so easy to do!

6. The No White Trick:
White flour, white sugar and white rice are all not good for us – in fact they clog up our system. Going without them is easy – just substitute whole grain flour (spelt flour is great here), honey or raw cane sugar and use brown rice. This is all great fiber and aids your digestive process. Also, many places use these healthier ingredients so check out what supermarkets and bakeries have in the whole grain department – you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

7. The Gentle Exercise Trick:
Have a walk in nature every day. Take a walk in the park and breathe in those good negative ions. Maybe there’s a park near your place of business or a nature pathway near your home. Walking in nature allows you to relax at a deep level – sort of like a walking meditation if you will. Enjoy the beauty of nature surrounding you and focus on only that.

As you can see, these seven detox tips are really simple to incorporate into your life and they all lead to a healthier and fitter you!
